One hundred is a significant number.

There are 100 years in a century, 100 U.S. Senators, and a score of 100 on a test usually means an A+. And now 100 is a milestone for The Bookcast.

Last Friday, with the posting of our interview with Nancy Madore, The Bookcast has now presented 100 indie author interviews.

That is 100 introductions we’ve made to new and exciting writers of thrillers, sci-fi/fantasy, short stories, memoirs, even a western.

We’ve helped you find scores of new authors, and maybe even new genres.

The Bookcast’s “100th” is not the same as a 100th birthday or a 100th anniversary, but it is neverthelss a meaningful milestone for us, and for you. I’m proud of what The Bookcast has accomplished since its launch in fall 2011.

The hundreds of hours of effort that have gone into those interviews pales, though, alongside the thousands of hours these talented authors have labored over their books.

And while I have expeienced a number of surprises large and small since launching The Bookcast, the one thing that does not surprise me is that there is a deep enough supply of indie authors to let me reach 100 interviews this quickly.

And it gets better – we are, in fact, on pace to add nearly 200 more interviews in 2013.
