Jim Overmier, a native of Annapolis, Maryland, has been around football for more than forty years as a player, coach, and, of course, a spectator. A former junior college quarterback, he began his coaching career at Old Mill High School in 1996. Several years later, during the summer of 2003, he launched Jim Overmier’s Quarterback Academy, a private quarterback training program for student-athletes who aspired to play the position at the collegiate level. Jim also spent a few years coaching both of his boy’s youth league teams in addition to coaching at a local high school!

He continued to coach high school football, at both public and private schools, until 2013, with the exception of one year. In 2007, he ventured into coaching collegiate football when he accepted the position of Quarterbacks Coach on the staff at Gallaudet University.

Jim retired from the sidelines following the 2012/2013 season at Severna Park High School. Afterward, he decided to write about what he considers to be his most unique coaching experience: the 2007 season at Gallaudet University.
