As CEO of her own thriving company, Nadia Adeire is flush with success. But a secret society, dating back to the Essenes, believes Nadia to be one of the ancient “djinn” – the notorious demoness of Hebrew legend, Lilith.

What’s more, they have reason to believe that she’s plotting a catastrophic attack on the world.

In Nancy Madore‘s historical, science fiction thriller “The Hidden Ones” Nadia is snatched from her “perfect” life and caught in a maze linking a present day disaster and the ancient legends of the djinn.

The only way out is to retrace the steps of her deceased grandmother, Helene. The deeper Nadia delves into the past the harder it will be for her to emerge unscathed.

But it’s the only way to stop this impending disaster that was set in motion five thousand years ago.

The Indie Author Life

It’s easy to see why Nancy Madore is hooked in history and its mysteries. Here’s what she wrote a while back in a blog post called “Angels and Nephilim and Djinn, Oh My”:

stele with giant 2

If you go back in history about five thousand years, you can’t help but notice that something happened around that time that changed the world forever. People who lived as hunters and gatherers for hundreds of thousands of years suddenly began settling in one place, cultivating the land and even governing themselves. They invented irrigation, the wheel, armor and algebra. They somehow acquired knowledge of our solar system that even modern technology wasn’t able to confirm until the 1970s. Most importantly, they began to read and write.

From those first ancient records we find numerous accounts of ‘angels’ descending from ‘heaven,’ bringing this knowledge and culture to the people of Mesopotamia. These accounts also tell how these superior beings, who many worshiped as ‘gods,’ mated with the women of Mesopotamia and started a fearsome new breed of giants they called Nephilim. Many historians theorize that these otherworldly visitors may have been aliens, while theologians believe they were spirit creatures rebelling against God. While we may never know exactly who they were or why they came, I think the evidence is overwhelming that something was here.
