What do a prostitute, a corrupt businessman, and a disfigured young woman have in common with a mysterious old homeless man who comes with an unusual piece of baggage?
In “The Man With the Green Suitcase,” the debut novel by Dee Doanes, the old man comes into people’s lives because it’s important for them to experience the visions that he is somehow able to show them, visions that even he doesn’t understand.
Whoever he connects with will also go through a transformation that will change the course of their life – for better or worse.
But the old man has no memory of who he is, or even exactly what his green suitcase holds.
This story is magical realism – realistic with paranormal elements, a mystery to be solved. And it’s about a man and woman who will finally realize that they were meant to come into each other’s lives and remain forever.

The Indie Author Life
Dee Doanes’s background is in marketing and communications, but she’s been a writer since age five. After previously publishing short stories and poetry, The Man With the Green Suitcase is her first novel.
On her website deedoanes.com, Dee says that..,
I love most types of books including: horror, paranormal, fantasy, sci-fi, mystery, science, history, philosophy, spirituality, business, etc. BTW, if I was stranded on an island and could only have one book, it would be the dictionary, my all time favorite book. I actually sleep with one next to my bed.
Her movie and TV influences include The X-Men, Inception, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Pan’s Labyrinth, Alfred Hitchcock, Tales from the Crypt, The Outer Limits, Twilight Zone, Tales from the Darkside.

But her big revelation is that .. maybe, just maybe .. she’s not from this planet:
I’m a big time Trekkie! The perfect man would have the sexual prowess of Captain Kirk and the logic of Mr. Spock. Yes, I go to Dragoncon dressed as Seven of Nine. Maybe I will post the pictures. I’ve always thought I’m from an alternate universe.
